Georgia State University is teaching solely online for the summer 2020 semester, but you may still engage with Student Health Promotion virtually. We are hiring for Campus of Care – COVID-19 – Student Public Health Ambassadors, in collaboration with the School of Public Health. If you are interested, apply in Handshake AND complete this survey. Please review the job description below. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis until early August. Questions can be answered by Tammy Turner, Assistant Director of Student Wellness.

  • Tuesday Trivia @BeWellGSU story. The first trivia questions will be posted at 10 AM on our story! You have 24 hours to answer (until the questions disappear on the story). New questions will be posted every morning this week. Winners will receive a prize pack


  • Wellness Wednesdays: Live Instagram @BeWellGSU – 1pm & 6pm – Provide an online forum for students to interact with a health educator, on a weekly basis, to discuss health and well-being topics and learn about resources available to students.



Campus of Care – COVID-19 – Student Public Health Ambassadors

Georgia State University has taken multiple steps to create a healthy environment for students, staff, and faculty during the unprecedented times of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are seeking graduate and undergraduate students to serve as Student Public Health Ambassadors. The Ambassadors will be part of the Campus of Care, public health campaign, to address the needs of students as we navigate academic success during a pandemic.  The Campus of Care Committee is a collaborative effort between the School of Public Health and the Division of Student Success.


  • Undergraduate or graduate student enrolled full-time and in good academic standing
  • Ability to work independently with personal accountability, as well as collaboratively
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
  • Ethical judgement and sound decision-making skills
  • Skilled in Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Tik-Tok and Facebook
  • Maintain an active social media account with at least 200 followers

Please note: Paid training is mandatory for all Student Public Health Ambassadors and is scheduled prior to the semester beginning.

Time Commitment & Responsibilities

  • The Student Public Health Ambassadors can be available up to 10 hours a week, but not to exceed (actual number may vary, subject to demand) during the fall 2020 semester
  • Commit to attending and participating in mandatory virtual trainings (i.e., COVID-19 101 Training on August 13, along with additional virtual training like the Certified Peer Education Training)
  • Facilitate virtual training sessions with faculty throughout the semester, based on need
  • Post pre-approved social media content on personal account as a Student Pubic Health Ambassador
  • Create social media content to be used for the Campus of Care public health campaign
  • Serve as a student member of the Campus of Care committee


  • Make a difference in the health of the Georgia State University community through public health efforts
  • Learn to collaborate and network with university departments
  • Earn professional development skills including program planning and implementation
  • Attain a nationally recognized certificate [NASPA’s Certified Peer Education (CPE) Training]
  • Collect an impressive amount of Georgia State University swag (i.e., polo shirt, bag, water bottle, #BeWellGSU mask)
  • Earn a $500 stipend for the semester
